| Noel Kelly, an Ipswich junior and former Brisbane Brothers player, continued his Queensland representative career from Ayr in 1960 as Foley Shield player-coach. During 1959 and 1960 Kelly represented Queensland a total of seven times. During the same period he played four Tests for Australia and was a member of the 1960 World Cup squad. | This was the start of a lengthy international career which saw Kelly tour three times with the Kangaroos (1959-60, 1963-64 and 1967-68). In 1961 Kelly left Queensland to play for Western Suburbs in Sydney, where he stayed until the end of his representative career. In all, Noel Kelly played for Australia 28 times. |
